The Painted Roses Blanket Pattern launch. I've gone with a bit of a different style border for me too. After I made the Desert Cushion I've been wanting to use crochet to join squares together again and I wanted the border to blend in with this style so it took quite a bit of time testing out ideas to come up with something that I thought looked right and that I was happy with. If I were a Rose painted black, would you cast me aside like blackened, burnt rice? Would my color tarnish my sweet smell? If I were a Rose painted black, would the richness of my ebony petals make me unworthy of being called a Rose? If I were a Rose painted white, would my ivory petals be worth more than silver? The Rose of Remnant was a well-known artist and very rarely sold her art, much like her mother had. Most of the art that was purchased from her by galleries were auctioned off to other galleries which she disliked, but the very few that sold her art for fundraisers would be the galleries she is happy to work with.   Draw the outline of the rose on the fabric. Paint inside. After you paint the base layer, before the paint is dry, draw the petal outline inside with a pencil. After the paint is dry start making outlines with white color and then dark color shading for the base of the petals. This rose is easy to convert to an applique patch.
